Here’s Why You Don’t Use Gasoline Instead of Lighter Fluid

In case you were wondering.


While you might *think* that gasoline and lighter fluid are the same thing (just because they both help things start on fire), they’re really not. Lighter fluid is designed to be mostly stable until things get really hot, which is why you can keep a lighter in your pocket without running the risk of having it spontaneously explode.


Gasoline, in contrast, is constantly emitting vapors. Flammable vapors. This is why it’s a dumb idea to cover a firepit in it. Otherwise, this might happen:
